Nancy E. Alexander's Obituary
Nancy E. Alexander, age 79, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, April 19, 2025, under the compassionate care of New Life Hospice. Born on April 8, 1946, in Sheffield Lake, Ohio, Nancy was the cherished daughter of Gerald and Mary (née Sobocinski) Huebner.
A proud 1964 graduate of Brookside High School, Nancy embraced a life of service and love. Throughout her life, she wore many hats—working as a dental assistant, assisting in the education of children with learning disabilities, and dedicating many years to selling Avon. However, her most treasured roles were that of a devoted wife, nurturing mother, adoring grandmother, and loving homemaker. Her family was truly her world.
Nancy had a deep appreciation for the beauty of nature and found joy in traveling, especially to places where water met the mountains. A gifted cook, she was especially known for her beloved spaghetti dish, a staple at family gatherings.
She is survived by her devoted husband of 58 years, John Alexander; her loving children, Susan (Baltazar) Ortiz and John (Victoria) Alexander; grandchildren, Michael, Ashley, Alexis, Johnathan, and Matthew (Zoe); and great-grandchildren, Maliha, Braylen, Briella, Kinsley, and Kaylie. She is also survived by her sister, Patricia Gotro.
Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, Gerald and Mary Huebner; her brother-in-law, Sonny Gotro; and her nephew, Brian Gotro.
Family and friends are invited to gather on Friday, April 25, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Broadway Assembly Church, 5495 Broadway Ave., Lorain, OH 44052. A celebration of Nancy’s life will follow at 12:30 p.m., officiated by Pastor Matt Jones. Private interment will take place at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made in Nancy’s honor to Mercy New Life Hospice or Broadway Assembly Church. Online condolences may be shared with the family at www.dovinreberjones.com.
Nancy’s life was one of love, strength, and selflessness. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
