Nancy M. Meyers' Obituary
Nancy M. Meyers (née Clay), age 90, passed away peacefully on Monday, May 26, 2025, at Wesleyan Village in Elyria, Ohio. Born on November 23, 1934, in Mount Clemens, Michigan, she was the daughter of Wells and Clara (née Emrich) Clay.
Nancy began her career in healthcare as a dedicated Nurses Aide and went on to earn her LPN degree. She was proud to serve her community through her work at Elyria Memorial Hospital, where she was known for her compassion and commitment to her patients. Later in life, she found great joy working at the Lorain County Historical Society, where her love of history and her inquisitive spirit were a perfect fit.
An avid traveler and passionate genealogist, Nancy found happiness in exploring both new places and the roots of her family history. She cherished time spent with loved ones and took great pride in her family.
She is survived by her children, Patricia (nee Ketring) Horst, Michael Ketring, William Ketring, Roy Ketring, Kenneth Ketring, Rebecca (nee Applebee) Bose, David Applebee; 8 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; sister, Becky ( nee Clay) Starn; as well as several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Elmer Meyers; parents, Wells and Clara Clay; and her brother, Donald Clay.
A memorial service to celebrate Nancy’s life will be held on Saturday, June 28, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at the Dovin and Reber Jones Funeral & Cremation Center, 1110 Cooper Foster Park Road, Amherst, Ohio 44001.
