Nancy More's Obituary
Nancy L. More (nee Romandio), age 92, of Lorain, died on Friday, December 17, 2010 at her home, surrounded by her family, following a lengthy illness.
She was born on April 20, 1918 in Cleveland. She came to Lorain as a young girl and has resided here since.
She had worked at US Steel during the 1940’s. For many years, Nancy worked at Higbee’s at Midway Mall in Elyria in the receiving and gift wrapping departments. She retired from there in 1988.
Nancy was an avid reader and enjoyed listening to a variety of music.
She is survived by her daughters, Patricia More, of Elyria and Alice (Kevin) Yeo, of Penfield Township; her son, Jim (Ann) More, of Lorain; her grandchildren, Jay, Kate and Bryan; brother, Phil (Jan) Alessandro, of Sheffield Lake, and sisters, Antoinette Marsico, of Lorain, Clara Szekely, of Amherst and Rose Mitock, of Avon, Angie (Ken) Hicks, of Sheffield Lake.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bryan, in 2000; her brother, Carmen Alessandro and her sister, Grace Alessandro.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, December 19, 2010 from 2-6 p.m. in the Dovin and Reber Jones Funeral & Cremation Center, 1110 Cooper Foster Park Rd., Amherst. Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 20th at 9:15 a.m. in the funeral center followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, Lorain. Fr. Richard E. Hudak, pastor, will officiate. Burial will follow in Ridge Hill Memorial Park.
