Nancy M. Payne's Obituary
Nancy M. Payne, age 85, of Vermilion and formerly of Lorain passed away Sunday, January 5, 2014 at New Life Hospice Center of St. Joseph following a brief illness.
She was born on April 21, 1928 in Lorain, Ohio to Domenic and Susie (nee Di Domenic) Pizzola.
Nancy was employed by the Lorain Board of Education as a cafeteria lunch aide at Larkmoor School for 13 years. She was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church where she a member of the Marian Guild and a very active member of the church while she was healthy.
She is survived by her sons, Thomas (Judy) Payne, of Cheyenne, Wyoming, and David (Evelyn) Payne, of Elyria; daughter, Marilouise (Lonnie “Pete” Kitts, of Vermilion; 10 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild; sister, Mary Ellis, of Illinois.
Nancy was preceded in death by her husband, Thornton, in 2008; and her granddaughter, Elise Briele Payne.
The Payne family will receive friends on Thursday, January 9, 2014 from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. in the Dovin and Reber Jones Funeral & Cremation Center, 1110 Cooper Foster Park Road, Amherst where closing prayers will be held on Friday, January 10th. at 9:15 a.m. followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church 1305 E. Erie Ave. Lorain. Rev. Fr. Richard Hudak, Pastor, will officiate. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.
