Nancy Szeto's Obituary
Nancy Szeto (nee Galo), age 74, of Lorain passed away Thursday, January 26, 2017 at her home after a lengthy illness.
She was born on May 18, 1942 in New Kensington, PA to Andrew and Della (nee Rosko) Galo and moved to Lorain upon her graduation from high school.
Nancy worked as a Nurse’s Aide for over 20 years at Golden Acres Nursing Home, retiring in 1999. She took great pride in her job and really enjoyed the patients.
She was an active member of the Church of St. Peter, Lorain. Nancy was an avid fan of both the Cleveland Indians and the CAVS, she enjoyed taking bus trips with her friends and family and loved polka dances and listening to polka bands. She especially loved listening her cousin Al Battistelli and his Polka Band. Her granddaughters brought her much joy and spending time with them and watching them play sports was her greatest joy.
Nancy is survived by her daughter, JoAnn (Dave) Eischen, of Amherst; granddaughters, Erika and Emily Eischen; and her brother, Randy (Janice) Galo, of Saltsburg, PA.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph, in 2011; parents, Andrew and Della Galo; sister, Lillian; and her brother, Andy.
The Szeto family will receive friends on Sunday, January 29, 2017 from 2:00 – 5:00 p.m. in the Dovin and Reber Jones Funeral & Cremation Center, 1110 Cooper Foster Park Road, Amherst. The family will also receive friends on Monday, January 30th. from 10:30 – 11:00 a.m. at the CHURCH OF ST. PETER, 3655 Oberlin Ave., Lorain. Mass of Christian Burial will follow the visitation at 11:00 a.m. Rev. Father Craig Hovanec, Pastor, will officiate. Entombment will follow at Resthaven Memory Gardens, Avon.
