Narciso Erazo Cruz's Obituary
Narciso Erazo Cruz, March 22, 1922- March 3, 2017, age 94 years 11 months 3 days.
At the time of his death, Narciso was living comfortably in his own home. He came to the United States from Bayamón, Puerto Rico as a young man looking for employment and was proud to work for USSteel in the blast furnace department where he retired. Lorain was always his home town even though he bought a farm in Sullivan and lived there for years with his family. He eventually sold the farm and moved back to Lorain where he knew many people and many people knew him.
In his younger years, he enjoyed raising roosters and was an avid cockfighter. Throughout the years, he delivered many of his farm raised pigs and goats to his friends in Lorain. Always an avid reader with English as a second language, he read the newspaper daily while chewing his favorite tobacco. Classic country music was one of his favorites although he was very proficient at singing the Puerto Rican tradition of aguinaldo while accompanying it with the GÜIRO.
He is survived by his children Aurea (Francisco) Erazo González of Ponce, Puerto Rico, Damarita (Francisco) González of Lorain, Ohio, Manuel (Nancy) Cruz Quaker City, Ohio, Nattividad Cruz of Lorain, Ohio and Soledad (Alfred) Larry of South Euclid, Ohio. Brothers of Bayamón, Puerto Rico: Jóse Manuel, Anibal, Faustino, Eduvijes, Santiago, and Bautista along with numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
