Nellie Arocho-Rivera's Obituary
Nellie M. Arocho-Rivera, age 71, of Lorain, passed away from a brief illness on Friday, September 22, 2023 at the Cleveland Clinic Main Campus.
She was born on May 26, 1952 in Lorain and is a 1971 graduate of Admiral King High School. She lived in Puerto Rico for a year but returned to Lorain. She worked as a secretary for over 30 years, first at Whittier Junior High and then transitioned over to Southview Middle school before finally retiring.
Her life was all about her kids, grandkids and great grandkids. She was a dog-lover and opened her home to several, giving them a loving home and safe shelter. She was a woman that was filled with love for everyone and if you knew her, you loved her.
She will be deeply missed by her husband of over 20 years, Jose “Pepe” Rivera, her children; Jessica (Pito Negron) Faria and Jesse Faria, grandkids; Angelo, Siarra, Gabriella, Yazmyn, Mila and Elijah, great grandkids; Cameron, Mi’Lani, A’Laya and Apollo, siblings; Luis (Joanne) Arocho and Edwin (Rose) Arocho, stepkids; Jessica Rivera and Jose (Crystal) Rivera, and step-grandkids; Isabel, Adriana, Jacob, Gabriel, Maddox and Jose “Tre” Rivera III. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Nellie was preceded in death by her parents; Angel Luis & Lydia (nee Vargas) Arocho and her former husband, Jesse N. Faria.
The family will receive friends on Monday, September 25th, 2023 from 3 to 7 pm at Dovin and Reber Jones Funeral & Cremation Center, 1110 Cooper Foster Park Road, Amherst. Friends will also be received on Tuesday, September 26th, from 8:30 am until the time of her funeral Mass at 9:30 am at Sacred Heart Chapel, 4301 Pearl Avenue, Lorain. Rev. Fr.
