Orville "Buck" L. Hickman's Obituary
Orville Lester “Buck” Hickman, age 76, of Vermilion, passed away at Mercy New Life Hospice of St. Joseph on Thursday, April 11, 2024.
Buck was born on March 15, 1948 in Dixie, West Virginia. He also lived in Clay, West Virginia for a bit until he moved to this area 51 years ago. He is a 1966 graduate of Clay High School. Shortly after Buck moved to this area, he began his career for Ford Motor Company. He began work at their Lorain plant and eventually retired from their Avon Lake plant after 50 years of dedicated employment.
He adored his family and cherished every moment and memory he ever had. Buck also enjoyed football, especially the Pittsburgh Steelers as well as NASCAR. His loved ones will forever remember him for his great and endless sense of humor and his big, kind heart.
Orville is survived by his loving wife, Beth Hickman (nee Hall); son, Angelo James (Jeannine) Hickman, of AR; daughters, Adrianna Hickman, of Avon Lake, OH and Nicole (Nick) West of Vermilion, OH; 10 grandchildren; and sisters, Barbara Elane (Derious) Cumming, of Procious, W. VA and Karen (Ernie) Hickman Curley, of Calabash, NC. He was preceded in death by his parents, Basil E. and Marjorie M. Hickman and his brother, Michael Wayne Hickman.
