Owen C. Butler's Obituary
Owen C. Butler, born on November 12, 1951 in Hammond, Indiana to the late Owen and Mary Anne (nee Cornell) Butler passed away on Saturday, September 2, 2017 at his home.
He graduated from Vermilion High School, went on to further his education at Lorain County Community College and continued to be a lifelong learner. Owen retired on May 31, 2017 from Ford Motor Company as an Electrician after forty years of service.
Owen enjoyed tractors, astronomy, motorcycles, working in his yard, computers, music and finding things that were broke to make them work again. His most treasured time was spent with all of his grandchildren.
He is survived by Della Frawley, his children including son, Matt (Ann-Marie) Butler of Amherst; daughters, Sarah (Kevin) Walker of Avon, Emily Butler of Chicago, and Alison Butler of Grafton; grandchildren, Katie, Zach, and Ben Walker, Sophia and John Butler, Halle, John, Evelyn, Alaina, Joe, Claire, and David; brothers, Steve, Greg, and Jon; and his sister, Donna.
The family will receive friends on Friday, September 8, 2017 from 4:00 – 7:30 p.m. in the Dovin and Reber Jones Funeral & Cremation Center, 1110 Cooper Foster Park Road, Amherst. A funeral service will immediately follow the visitation in the funeral center at 7:30 p.m. Pastor John Burgess of Brighton Congregational Church will officiate. Private family inurnment will take place at a later date.
The family suggest contributions be made in memory of Owen to the steeple fund at the Brighton Congregational Church, 22086 St. Rt. 511, Wellington, OH 44090.
