Dear Bobby and Family, I have so many fond memories of Mrs. Smaldino. She and others were always SO kind to me at lunch time (and any time) during our days at St. Peter and LCHS. She never, ever forgot that I did not like my gravy directly on top of my mashed potatoes! My father passed away in mid-April, and we are all so lucky to have Pam and everyone in the Dovin and Reber Jones family to help our families bear these incredible losses. Debbie, Sammy & Bobby, My heart is flooded with endless wonderful memories of our family gatherings visiting you guys in Ohio with our parents & Grandpa & Grandma Smaldino. Us Florida girls would love going into the basement on Douglas Ct, to the Rivera for swim meets/lessons and just visiting with our Smaldino Family! What a wonderful treat it was to meet the Rositano family!! Aunt Pat, Your laughter and love of life is forever emblazoned in my heart. Bill often shares the wonderful walks in Cooper City we took with Aunt Pat and Uncle Bob. And the poker & Bingo games!!!! Oh my gosh! I’m sure you, Uncle Bob and my Mom are probably setting up a Poker/Bingo hall! We will miss your wonderful spirit and joyful presence….especially your expressive animation as you welcomed all who came to be graced with your presence. You certainly passed that on to Debbie, Sam & Bobby! All my love to you Aunt Pat and to your wonderful legacy! Debbie, Bobby, and Sammy:
Your mom was an absolute joy. The memories I have of her are innumerable. And oh, that laugh of hers! You have no idea how many stories I have heard from my dad about what their life was like when he and his sisters were growing up (I’m sure you have heard them as well!) So much love in that Rositano house! And, of course, she carried that same love to your dad, the three of you and your kids. You all were so very lucky.

I will always have such fond, loving memories of my Aunt Patsy and am so happy I got to see her last month at my dad’s birthday party. I have a wonderful photo of her, my dad, and Aunt Joann. So glad they got to be together one last time.

I wish I weren’t so far away, but please know I am thinking about all of you. Your mom loved the three of you so much, and that knowledge will get you through these sad times.

I will fondly remember her great dedication to her children, and the organizations and sports programs they participated in, while they were at Lorain Catholic HS.

Her ever smiling face, behind the LC lunch line counters, was always there to brighten my day!

I have fond memories of Mrs. Smaldino as a member of my mom's ladies' group and as one of our swim team moms at Riviera. She was the clasic Italian mom, always wanting to feed everyone! She was a lovely person and funny as hell. I know she will be dearly missed by her family and friends. Heartfelt condolences to you all.

Mrs. Smaldino was a second mother to me while I grew up in the Douglas Court/Westwood Drive area. She always had kind words to say and plenty of food on the table if you were hungry.
