Patricia A. Vazquez's Obituary
Patricia A. Vazquez (nee Stevens), age 74, of Lorain, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, October 12, 2021, at Mercy Regional Medical Center, Lorain.
She was born on December 7, 1946 in Johnstown, PA. She moved to Lorain in 1956 where she has lived the rest of her life and is a graduate of Lorain High School. In 1962, while working at the concession stand at Lakeview Beach, she ended up meeting her beloved husband, Antonio, marrying him 2 years later. Patricia was a devoted member of St. Peter Church, in Lorain, where she gladly sent donations. Later in her life she was a self-employed tax preparer for 10 years. However, it was more than just a job because she truly enjoyed meeting with and talking to her many clients.
Patricia was the true definition of a selfless person. She cared so much about her family and was extremely proud to be a wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Her compassion for her father was fulfilled being able to care for him until he passed away. Patricia would constantly be caring about everyone else first, making sure they have anything they needed and were happy. She was also well known for always having food in the home and whoever came by never left hungry, but rather quite full. She was an excellent cook and baker, which she always did with love. One of her favorite things to do was having breakfast at the lake with her husband in the mornings, usually just looking out into the water and watching the boats. If not having breakfast at the lake, she treasured her walks on the beach. She enjoyed her hobby of planting her flowers, especially the roses. Patricia and her husband also enjoyed traveling. One of her most memorable trips was when she was surprised by Antonio with a trip to Paris.
Patricia is survived by her adoring husband, Antonio, children, Anthony (Carmen) Vazquez, Betty Vazquez, and Brian (Christine) Vazquez, all of Lorain, her grandchildren, Nichole, David, Aaron, and Andrew, her great grandson, Alexander, her brother, Greg, and her sisters, Beverly, Sandy, Marsha, Michelle, Dawn, and Crystal. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Willard & Betty Jane (nee Fisher) Stevens, as well as her step-mother, Sarah “Gail” Stevens.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, October 16, 2021, from 10:00 am until the time of her funeral service at 2:00 pm in the Dovin and Reber Jones Funeral & Cremation Center, 1110 Cooper Foster Park Road, Amherst.
