Patricia Yug's Obituary
Patricia Ann (Byrne) Yug, 74, of Lorain, Ohio passed away on April 23, 2023 surrounded by her family. Pat was born in Dublin, Ireland on April 5, 1949, and moved to the United States at age 6. After a short time in Cleveland, her family moved to Lorain where she joyfully lived out the rest of her life. Pat graduated from Lorain High School in 1967 and attended LCCC. She then worked as a beautician at May Company, and eventually as a department manager for Higbee’s/Dillard’s, retiring in 1994.
Pat married John Yug (Lorain) on May 9, 1970, celebrating over 50 years of marriage. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends – including trips to the beach, visiting Cedar Point with family and spending time at the Knights of Columbus in Lorain with close friends.
Pat is preceded in death by her parents Maureen and Patrick Byrne and brother Kevin. She is survived by her loving husband of 52 years, her children Darin (Chrissy) Yug of Avon, Denise (Todd) Kubasak of Lorain, and 6 grandchildren Mason Kubasak, Blake Kubasak, Carter Yug, Maggie Yug, PJ Yug and Anabella Kubasak. She is survived by her siblings Brian Byrne (Amherst), Patrick Byrne (Ft. Lauderdale) and Maureen Byrne (Elyria).
The family will receive friends on Wednesday April 26, from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. in the Dovin & Reber Jones Funeral & Cremation Center, 1110 Cooper Foster Park Rd. Amherst, OH 44011. Funeral services will immediately follow the visitation at 12:00 p.m. Rev. Father Daniel Divis, Pastor of St. Mary’s Church will officiate. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery, Lorain. In lieu of flowers, her family invites you to donate in Pat’s memory to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (www2.jrdf.org), a cause very close to her heart given her granddaughter is living with Type 1 diabetes.
