Patrick J. Costello II's Obituary
Patrick J. Costello II, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, and cherished friend, passed away on Thursday, November 30, 2023, at the Ames Family Hospice following a sudden illness. He was 58 years old.
Patrick was born on December 14, 1964, in Lorain, Ohio, to his loving parents Patrick and Janice Costello (nee Jacobs). He grew up in Lorain and graduated from Lorain High School in 1983. His pursuit of higher education led him to Defiance College, where he not only pursued his education but also displayed his passion for sports by being an active member of both the wrestling and football teams.
For over two decades, Patrick dedicated his professional life to Watteredge LLC in Avon Lake as a machinist, contributing his skills and hard work since October 2000. Beyond his professional endeavors, Patrick found immense joy in various hobbies. He was a fitness enthusiast and found solace in working out at the gym. His fondness for collecting tools and working on cars showcased his hands-on nature and technical abilities. A staunch supporter of the Cleveland Browns, he relished watching their games and passionately following the team's journey.
However, Patrick's greatest happiness stemmed from his cherished relationships with family and friends. A man known for his gentle, loving, and giving nature, Patrick was devoted to his loved ones. He shared a special bond with his mother, earning the endearing title of a "mama's boy." His affection extended to his beloved dogs, and their companionship brought him immense comfort and joy. He also took great pride in his home and yard.
He leaves behind a legacy of love and fond memories cherished by many. Patrick is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 40 years, Karen Costello (nee Van Auken), his son Patrick Costello III, his daughter Ashley Costello (Tom Zeise Jr.), and his adored grandchildren Logan, Cody, Isabella, and Giana Zeise. He is also survived by his loving parents, Patrick and Janice, and his dear sisters, Jolene Costello (Michael) Norman and Tealla Costello (David) Berman.
