Patrick Anthony Knierim's Obituary
Patrick Anthony Knierim, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 2, 2023, at Mercy Regional Medical Center in Lorain, Ohio. He was 82 years old.
Born on December 15, 1940, in Cleveland, Ohio, Patrick was the son of Lawrence Joseph and Mary Margaret (nee Kelly) Knierim. His life was marked by dedication, service, and a deep love for his family. He enlisted in the United States Army on January 14, 1963, proudly serving his country until his honorable discharge on January 17, 1966, attaining the rank of Sergeant E-5 (T).
Following his military service, Patrick found his second family at the Ford Motor Company, where he worked diligently on the Assembly Line for many years. In 1999, he retired, leaving behind a legacy of hard work and commitment to his craft.
Patrick had a passion for the outdoors and spent countless hours fishing and participating in Turkey Shooting competitions. He also enjoyed bowling and was a member of the UAW bowling league. These pursuits allowed him to connect with nature and forge lasting memories with friends and loved ones.
He was married to his devoted wife, Janice (nee Adams) Knierim, for 61 years. Patrick is survived by his three children, Patrice (David) Rollins, Mark Anthony (Brenda) Knierim, and Gayle (Richard) Lane. He also leaves behind five adoring grandchildren, David Rollins Jr., Kevin Rollins, Brad Reed, Nicholas Reed, and Markus Knierim, as well as seven great-grandchildren.
Patrick was preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence Joseph Knierim, and 12 siblings. His memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
Funeral services to celebrate Patrick's life will be held on Friday, September 8, 2023, at 1:45 p.m. at the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, located at 10175 Rawiga Road, Seville, Ohio 44273. The family is being assisted with the arrangements by the Dovin and Reber Jones Funeral & Cremation Center.
