Patrick M. Yuhasz's Obituary
Patrick M. Yuhasz, a devoted family man, passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, October 21, 2023, while under the care of Well Spring Hospice. Surrounded by his family, Patrick's journey through life came to a gentle close.
Born in Lorain, Ohio, Patrick lived his entire life in this tight-knit community that he cherished. He was a proud graduate of St. Mary's High School, and his education there laid the foundation for a life well-lived. After graduation, Patrick dedicated his career as a skilled machinist at American Crucible Products for 25 years. He was known for his precision and workmanship, earning the respect and admiration of his colleagues. He was a devout member of St. Ladislaus Catholic Church until its closing.
In his younger years, Patrick found joy in the simple pleasures of life, particularly in his passion for fishing. He also had a competitive spirit and enjoyed playing cards, especially Poker, with friends and family. One of his greatest joys was taking regular casino trips with his beloved wife by his side, creating cherished memories in destinations such as Windsor and Atlantic City.
Family was paramount to Patrick. He was a devoted father who took immense pride in cheering on his sons during their numerous sporting events. He even dedicated his time to be a coach and manager for the Centel baseball team, leaving an indelible mark on the lives of those he mentored. A loyal sports enthusiast, Patrick had a special place in his heart for the Cleveland Browns and Indians, and he avidly followed the Ohio State Buckeyes. He found camaraderie and connection with fellow fans, sharing countless hours of joy and heartache through the highs and lows of his teams.
Patrick M. Yuhasz will be remembered as a loving husband, dedicated father, a man of unwavering faith, and a friend to many. His life was filled with moments of simple joy, steadfast commitment, and the unbreakable bonds of family and friendship. He leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and cherished memories.
Patrick is survived by his loving sons, Michael (Janeen) Yuhasz and Matthew Yuhasz, both of Lorain as well as his nephews, Louis, Jr. (Barb) Hyster and Ernest Hyster, Jr., and a niece, Roberta (Steve) Polansky. The family would also like to extend a special “thank you” to Peggy Jackson who was always there to help, look after and care for their dad. Her kindness will never be forgotten and always appreciated.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 46 years, Robyn C. (nee Stoops) Yuhasz, parents, Michael & Julia Yuhasz, sisters; Josephine (Harold) Holder, Anne (Louis, Sr.) Hyster and Maggie (Ernest, Sr.) Hyster and a niece, Patricia Ann Taylor.
The family will receive friends for his memorial service on Saturday, October 28th, 2023, at 10:00 am, at Hope Lutheran Church, 4792 Oster Road, Sheffield, Ohio 44054. Inurnment will be privately held in Westwood Cemetery, Oberlin. The Dovin and Reber Jones Funeral & Cremation Center, 1110 Cooper Foster Park Road, Amherst, is assisting the family with arrangements.
