Paul D. McGregor's Obituary
Paul D. McGregor, age 61, of Lorain passed away Friday, September 18, 2015 after a lengthy illness at Elyria Memorial Hospital. He was born on March 22, 1954 in Lorain, Ohio to Richard and Patricia (nee Stanko) McGregor and attended Elyria High School.
He was employed by Marco’s Pizza and also delivered the Cleveland Press and the Cleveland Plain Dealer. He also served as an usher at Cleveland Municipal Stadium for both the Cleveland Browns and The Cleveland Indians.
Paul and his wife, Marcia, loved to travel, especially to Disney World and to South Carolina where he would spend time visiting with his brother, Mike. He loved roller coasters, playing Parcheesi and watching wrestling, baseball, football and old movies on television, and playing basketball. He loved his dogs, Marco, Bernice, Roxie and George.
He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Marcia (nee Zalenski); brother, Michael R. McGregor; sister, Patricia A. “Patty” (nee McGregor) Hamley; nieces, Katrina A. Smith, Megan McGregor Dohn and Amanda Metz; great-niece, Molly Dohn; and great-nephew, Jimmy Grogg Jr.
Paul was preceded in death by his parents, Richard K. and Patricia A. McGregor; grandparents, Paul and Pauline (nee Miketo) Stanko, whom he was named after and Rollie and Margaret (nee Davis) McGregor; and his brother, Richard A. “Rick” McGregor, who passed away on September 12, 2015.
The McGregor family will receive friends on Tuesday, September 22, 2015 from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. in the Dovin and Reber Jones Funeral & Cremation Center, 1110 Cooper Foster Park Road, Amherst where closing prayers will be held on Wednesday, September 23rd. at 9:15 a.m. followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. at St. Anthony of Padua Church, 1305 E. Erie Ave., Lorain. Rev. Fr. Edward Smith, Administrator, will officiate. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.
