Paul A. Pentito's Obituary
Paul A. Pentito, age 72, of Vermilion, passed away on Tuesday, January 21, 2020, at Mercy Regional Medical Center, Lorain.
He was born on September 14, 1947 in Lorain, which is where he grew up as well and is a 1965 graduate of Admiral King High School. After high school, Paul proudly served his country while enlisted in the Air Force. He served two terms during the Vietnam War before being honorably discharged. After the service, he worked as a mechanic for several dealerships and the U.S. Steel (National Tube Company) while at the same time operating his own business at home. Paul was employed as a mechanic for the City of Lorain for 30 years, before finally retiring from there a few years ago. He is a member of The Church of St. Peter, Lorain.
It is so difficult to list all of the things Paul enjoyed doing and hobbies he kept, because he was so full of life and enjoyed so many things. He put a lot of his heart and soul into tending to his small farm, including his beautiful gardens and all of his animals he loved so much…especially his horses and kitties. Paul was extremely creative and he could fix anything. If he did not know how to fix something, he would figure it out on his own and not be satisfied until it met his “perfectionist” seal of approval. Paul and his wife loved going Polka dancing. He enjoyed taking his family boating, rebuilding hot rods and working on not only his tractors, but everyone’s tractors too. He always enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his beloved wife, and in the recent years found joy in doing things with her that he never did before. If you were able to truly describe him, he is truly a devoted family man and a great friend to so many.
Paul is survived by his loving wife of 29 years, Barbara A. (nee Dziubek), his daughters; Toni (Willie) New, and Tanya Goldauskas, son, Paul Pentito, his 4 grandchildren; Gabrielle, Ashley, Samantha, and Mark, and his 4 great grandchildren; James, Aiden, Axel, and Zach.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Melanie, granddaughter, Deborah, and his parents; Andrew and Helen (nee Brodke) Pentito.
The family will receive friends for a gathering on Friday, January 31st, 2020 from 3-7 pm, in the Dovin and Reber Jones Funeral & Cremation Center, 1110 Cooper Foster Park Road, Amherst. His Mass of Christian Burial will be on Saturday, at 9:30 am, at the Church of St. Peter, 3655 Oberlin Avenue, Lorain, OH 44053. The Rev. Fr. Craig Hovanec, Pastor, will officiate. Inurnment will follow at Calvary Cemetery, Lorain, where military honors will be conducted. To send an online condolence, please go to www.dovinreberjones.com.
