Peter M. Miller's Obituary
Peter M. Miller, 70 of Amherst, Ohio passed away after a brief illness, at his home with his wife, Luanne, by his side on Saturday, May 6, 2023.
Pete was born July 18, 1952, in Lorain, Ohio to Joseph P. Miller, of Amherst and Irene V. Strong (nee) Kurucz, of Westlake, Ohio.
Pete was an avid sports fan. He enjoyed following his local Steele Comets as well as the various professional Cleveland teams. He enjoyed golf and puttering around the house with his tools. Pete started out when he was 16 years old working at the Pick and Pay store on SR 254 as a bagger. Peter worked various positions throughout his career with Pick and Pay, Finest and Tops reaching the position of Store Manager at various locations. Pete enjoyed working with people and his family and helping others as much as he could. Peter was active in St. Joseph’s Parish (Amherst) Men’s Club. Pete enjoyed working on his 1968 Mustang Fastback and drag racing it at various places in Ohio. Pete was married to Luanne for 26 years residing in Amherst, Ohio.
Pete is survived by his wife Luanne (nee) Westerhold. Daughter Rachel Winski (Todd), Hudson, OH; Son Jeremy Miller, Bellefontaine, OH; Stepson Bradley Russell (Kelly), of Sandusky, OH. Grandchildren; Brennan, Keaton, Miloh, Winski; Aidyn and Finneghan Russell; Erin and Alison, Tommas and numerous nieces and nephews.
Brother Joseph Miller (Donna), Jasksonville, Florida; Sister Vivian Balzer, Avon Lake, Ohio; Sister Mary Varady (Tom), Houston Texas; Brother John Miller, Amherst, Ohio; Sister Nancy Osko (Mark), Avon, Ohio; Brother James Miller (Laura), Amherst, Ohio.
Pete was proceeded in death by his parents, Joseph Miller and Irene Strong, sister Anne Fuller.
There was a private family service held on May 11, 2023, at Dovin and Reber Jones Funeral & Cremation Center. There will be a Celebration of Life gathering at a later date.
Luanne would like to thank the Westerhold family, Jim and Laura Miller and Kay and Denny Orosz for all their love and support during this difficult time.
