Petra Rosalez's Obituary
Petra Rosalez(nee Gonzalez) age 90, of Lorain went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, May 3, 2022 with her loving children at her side. Petra was born in Caguas, Puerto Rico on October 19, 1931, and came to Ohio where she met her husband of 57 years Jose. Petra was a homemaker, enjoyed her pet dogs Princessa, and Penny, her birds, and feeding her squirrels in her yard. She also enjoyed gardening and going to the Flea Market.
She was a member of Sacred Heart Chapel. Petra enjoyed her loving family of 14 children. Petra is survived by her sons Jose Jr. (Lina) of Medina, Miguel (Christina) of Cleveland, Francisco (Brenda) of Sheffield Township, Jesus “Chewy” and Silverio “CB”, Luis “Weto” (Linda), Daniel (Carmen) all of Lorain, Rafael (Annette) of Amherst; daughters Paula (Jim) Malick of Amherst Township, Josephine “Jo Jo” (Efrain) of Sheffield Township, Rosa (Michael) Garcia of Lorain, Lucy (Wayne) Anderson of North Liberty, Indiana, and Linda Sadler of Sheffield Village; brothers, Thomas Gonzalez, Robert “Bobby” Torres and Gus “Junior” (Margaret) Sepulveda; and her sisters, Felicita (Chilo) Escandon, and Amelia Torres.
Petra was grandmother to 58 grandchildren, 40 great grandchildren and 5 great, great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Alejandrino Gonzalez Estrada and Fabiana Rodriguez; her husband of 57 years Jose Sr. in 2009 and son Antonio in 2000; and grandson Antonio in 2021; sister Bachi Gonzalez 2021.
The family will receive friends on Monday, May 9, 2022, from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. in the Dovin and Reber Jones Funeral & Cremation Center, 1110 Cooper Foster Park Road, Amherst. The family will also receive friends on Tuesday, May 10th. from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Chapel, 4301 Pearl Ave., Lorain. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00 a.m. in the Church, followed by interment at Calvary Cemetery, Lorain. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.dovinreberjones.com
