Where do I start ? He was my best friend.
I met Randy in high school and we did a lot together but when he moved to Lorain we lost track of each other for a while. In 1980 I bought a house on Nebraska Ave and Randy was only a few houses away on Garfield. After that we were together just about every day. Me in his garage or he in mine. So many great memories.
When I moved to NY in '88 I spent all of my time with him on my trips back home to visit family. Fortunately I spent four days with him just a week before he passed. All day. For four days. Thank God I was able to do that. Who knew ?
We spoke on the phone constantly. And if I had a car question he was just a phone call away. Man I already miss being able to call him. What a brilliant man. One of the smartest people I have ever known. And of course his sense of humor...
My trips back to Ohio will be so different now. No sitting in his garage watching Andy of Mayberry or The Beverly Hillbillies in black and white.
He liked to say that "there's been nothing good on TV since it went to color ". I think I agree.
I loved him dearly and will miss him the rest of my days. Rest easy my friend.
