Randy Alan Petroskey's Obituary
Randy Alan Petroskey (62) born September 24th, 1955 passed away on August 21, 2018 at Mercy Hospital in Lorain Ohio due to a severe asthma attack. He was born in Lorain and raised in Elyria Ohio. He went to Elyria High School then attended Lorain Community College and Hodges University to study Criminal justice. He moved to Manatee County Florida in 1983 to pursue his career as Captain of the Bradenton Police Department where he retired June of 2007 after 23 years of service. Shortly after which he instructed young adults at Manatee Technical Institute, Police Academy for over 10 years and retired from there as well. He became a snow bird and spent his summers in his birth place of Ohio. He was an active member of the Knights of Columbus at the Holy Cross Church in Palmetto Florida. He is preceded in death by his parents Frank and Dorothy Petroskey. He is survived by his son Nick Petroskey(27), his two sisters Cathy Perkins, Sharon Petroskey and his brother Dennis Petroskey. He is also leaves behind a wife Pamela Petroskey of 16 years, her son Michael Willis (Morgan Willis), daughter Amanda Kerekanich (Christopher Kerekanich) and three beautiful grandchildren: AJ, Aeron and Parker. He will be greatly missed by so many people and he touched the hearts of all those he came into contact with. He was willing to help with no questions asked, even if he is just putting his two cents in.
There will be a celebration of his life at on Friday, August 24, 2018, from 4 to 6 pm, in the Dovin and Reber Jones Funeral & Cremation Center, 1110 Cooper Foster Park Road, Amherst. A memorial Mass will also be held in Florida for Randy, at a later date.
