Auntie Marge and family - I'm so sorry for Uncle Ray's passing, but happy I got to see the both of you on my last visit to Amherst a couple of years ago when he was still getting around.
Words fail me because there is a lifetime of memories I have of him.
Uncle Ray was a bigger-than-life kind of guy, in my eyes - especially after the Oregon incident. But, it was the normal activities like the picnics and bacon fries, showers, weddings, and all the other events...sometimes, just sitting around our kitchen tables and talking and laughing that fills me with great love and admiration for him. Both my parents absolutely adored the both of you. As kids, we always got excited when you and Ray would pull into the yard.
Uncle Ray was my last uncle and always made me feel okay about myself. He accepted me, as is. He was a very positive role model for me and a gentleman.
He's excellent company now with the others we've had to let go of.
I'm sorry I'm not there, but I know that your wonderful family will surround you with great love, comfort and care.
You are always in my thoughts and prayers. I love you.

Marge, I'm sorry to hear of Ray's passing. It's been many, many years since we've seen each other. I'll pass the news on to Mary Ann & George, who both live within 15/20 minutes from me here in NJ. Last week was 8 years since I lost my husband. You and your family will continue to be in my Prayers

So many wonderful things to say about Ray... but to keep this short we will share our fond memories of his big smile and helpful heart! Now he has taken his rightful place as an angel, watching from the heavens above. May God's peace and love bring you all strength and comfort during this time. Sorry that we can not be there in person but we will pray a rosary for him and all of you during the funeral mass and many more throughout this week.
