Regina F. Stowe's Obituary
Regina F. “Grams” Stowe (nee Simsic), age 84, of Lorain, passed away at Ames Family Hospice House on Saturday, January 22, 2022 after a lengthy battle with ALS.
She was born on October 18, 1937 in Lorain, where she lived her entire life and is a 1956 graduate of Lorain High School. Regina was a devoted and life-long member of Nativity of the BVM Catholic Church, where she attended grade school and where she even married her beloved husband, David. Regina was also a member of Nativity’s Altar & Rosary Society for whom she showcased her excellent baking skills for their bake sales, participated in their fundraisers, and was even an integral part of mailing cards to the sick of the parish.
Regina worked for the Lorain Telephone Company for a few years as an operator and then in the office. Later in life, she enjoyed managing Abbott’s Cards & Gifts store in Amherst for 16 years. She was extremely creative and enjoyed making homemade cards for her loved ones as well as putting together scrap books for everyone. Regina was an avid reader and was great at putting together puzzles and completing thousands of crossword puzzles. Her truest love in life though was her family, especially her grandchildren who she treasured dearly.
She is survived by her loving husband of 61 years, William David Stowe, her sons; Brian, of Trabuco Canyon, CA, Keith (Carol), of Livonia, MI, and David (Melissa), of Avon, her grandchildren; Danielle Stowe, Katlin Stowe, Nathan Stowe, Madison Stowe, Carlie (Kevin) Humphrey, Andrew (Sophie) Stowe, Julia Stowe, Mallory Stowe, and Ben Stowe, her great grandson, Cade, her sister, Joan Joseph, and brother, Paul Simsic.
Regina was preceded in death by her parents; Louis & Anna (nee Kielar) Simsic.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, January 26th, from 4 to 7 pm in the Dovin and Reber Jones Funeral & Cremation Center, 1110 Cooper Foster Park Road, Amherst. A Rosary Service will be led by Nativity’s Altar & Rosary Society prior to the visitation at 3:30 pm. MASKS ARE REQUIRED. Regina’s Mass of Christian Burial will be on Thursday, January 27th at 10:00 am at Nativity of the BVM Catholic Church, 418 West 15th Street, Lorain, OH 44052. PLEASE MEET AT CHURCH. The Rev.
