Rene E. Springowski's Obituary
Rene' E. Springowski, 72, formerly of Sheffield Lake, passed away Saturday, November 16, 2019. Rene' was born January 25, 1947 in Lakewood, Ohio. She was a graduate of John Marshall High school and continued her education while attending Bowling Green State University and LCCC. Following her graduation she taught elementary education at Avon Holy Trinity and was a substitute teacher in the Sheffield-Sheffield Lake school system.
Aside from her teaching career she was a talented needlework instructor, having taught knitting at Higbee's and May Co.
Rene's lifelong interest in all creatures large and small brought her to animal rescue, especially cats and dogs, which she participated in for many years.
Rene's interest in science allowed her to become a mentor to middle and high school students seeking a deeper knowledge of the sciences. She encouraged their participation in local, state, and international competitions, with great success.
Rene' is survived by her husband Jack, her daughter Aimee Ackerman (Paul), her grandson Emerson, and her brother Bernard (Sandra) Rauh of South Carolina.
She was preceded in death by her parents Bernard and Betty Rauh (Klavon). No visitation is planned. Cremation services will be handled by the Dovin and Reber Jones Funeral & Cremation Ctr., Amherst. A celebration of life will be scheduled in the Spring of the upcoming year.
The memory of Rene' as a kind, intelligent, and talented woman will always remain with those who loved her dearly.
