Richard H's Obituary
Richard H. Gow, 77, of Wellington, formerly of Lorain, passed away July 9, 2010 after a short illness at New Life Hospice of St. Joseph.
He was a 1951 graduate of Lorain High School and served in the United States Air Force from 1951 to 1955, three of those years in Germany. He retired from the Lorain Telephone Company in 1991 after 35 years of service.
He was a lifetime member of St. Stanislaus Church, Lorain and more recently a member of Sacred Heart Church, Oberlin. He also belonged to the United Polish Club of Lorain, the VFW in Amherst and the Oberlin Senior Center.
He enjoyed traveling and watching his grandchildren compete in sports. His hobbies include golf, woodworking and repairing anything that needed fixing for family and friends. He was a man of many talents and will be greatly missed.
Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Rose (nee Palka); daughter, Catherine (David) Priebe; sons, Ronald (Darla) Gow and Richard (Cheryl) Gow; grandchildren, Richard, Brittany, Rachel and Caitlyn.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lester and Irene Gow and his brother, Robert Gow.
A Memorial Mass will be held Saturday, July 17, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church, 410 W. Lorain St., Oberlin. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Cancer Society or Sacred Heart Church, Oberlin.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Dovin and Reber Jones Funeral & Cremation Center, Amherst.
