Richard D. Nagy's Obituary
Richard D. “Dick” Nagy, age 80, of Avon, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, March 13, 2022.
He was born on February 3, 1942 in Lorain, where he lived most of his life until moving to Avon in 2009. He was a 1960 graduate of Lorain High School. After high school, he enlisted in the United States Navy where he proudly served his term in the North Atlantic on a destroyer. After his honorable discharge he went to work for the Ford Motor Company for 38 years as an electrician as well as a Skilled Trades Chairman and finally retired in 2005.
Dick was a proud member of the UAW Local #425 & UAW Local #2000. For his entire life, he enjoyed fishing and being out on the water. He also liked restoring MG’s as well as building and flying remote controlled airplanes. Richard always looked forward to getting out for a ride on his motorcycle and had a special place in his heart for his beloved dogs.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, JoAnn L. (nee Vinka), daughters; Lori (Jeffrey) Emery, of Wakeman, Amy (Chris) Ladikos, of Wellington, and Emily (Ken) Nickerson, of Fort Worth, TX, grandchildren; Kaylee, Taylor, Austin, Keegan, Paige, and Brady, and his 2 great grandchildren; Kasen and Mavery.
Richard was preceded in death by his father, Zigmund Nagy, mother, Mary (nee Geri) Williams, and his step-father, James Williams.
