Richard G. Ybarra's Obituary
Richard G. Ybarra, age 70, of Lorain passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Friday, April 3, 2015 at Fairview Hospital after a lengthy illness.
He was born on June 14, 1944 in Lorain, Ohio to Genaro and Ysaura (nee Gonzalez) Ybarra.
Richard retired from U.S. Steel in 1999 after 34 years of service working in Maintenance Department. He was a member of the United Steel Workers Local Union 1104, the Mexican Mutual Society and a proud member of the Chicanos Club.
He enjoyed watching all the city of Cleveland’s professional sport teams and The Ohio State Buckeyes. He also enjoyed attending music concerts. Family was what was most important to him. He loved being able to care of them.
Richard is survived by his sons, Rick, Ryan (Catherine), Ron, Randy (Marcie) and Russell (Joanna) Ybarra; grandchildren, Michaela, Raegen, Veronica, Masen, Merika, Mazeray, and Imogen; brothers, Raymond, Genaro (Kathy), and Arthur Ybarra; and his sisters, Gilda Martinez, Rita (Fernando) Amador, Martha Santos and Yolanda (Javier) Rivera.
He was preceded in death by his grandson, Ryan Andrew Ybarra; and his parents, Genaro and Ysaura Ybarra.
The Ybarra family will receive friends on Wednesday, April 8, 2015 from 2:00 – 4:00 and 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. in the Dovin and Reber Jones Funeral & Cremation Center, 1110 Cooper Foster Park Road, Amherst where closing prayers will be held on Thursday, April 9th. at 9:45 a.m. followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. at St. Frances Xavier Cabrini Catholic Church, 2143 Homewood Drive, Lorain. Rev. Fr. John Retar, Pastor, will officiate. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.
