Rita Woltman's Obituary
Rita L. Woltman (nee John), 87, of Lorain, passed away Saturday, August 3, 2013 at Mercy Regional Medical Center following a short illness.
Born on October 18, 1925 in Uniontown, Pennsylvania to the late Andrew and Mary John, she graduated in 1944 from St. John's High School in Uniontown. Rita and her husband, Donald, resided in several areas, including Alaska, Nevada and Ashtabula, Ohio, before making Lorain their home since 1990.
She worked as a secretary for many years for various attorneys.
Rita was a member of St. Joseph Church, Amherst, and the Ladies' Auxiliary of the Amherst Eagles. She was an avid poker player.
She is survived by her husband, to whom she would have been married to for 57 years this coming November 5th , Donald; her step-sons, Jim (Mary Alyce) Woltman, of Lorain and Robert Woltman, of Laguna Beach, CA; her step-daughter, Donna Jean (Dennis) Abend, of Newark, OH; her step-grandchildren, Gregory Woltman and Olivia Steele; her brother, Alfred "Buzz" (Sally) John, of Uniontown, PA; and many nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by several brothers and sisters.
The Woltman family will receive friends on Tuesday, August 6, 2013 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. in the Dovin and Reber Jones Funeral & Cremation Center, 1110 Cooper Foster Park Rd., Amherst. Closing Prayers will be said Wednesday, August 7th at 9:30 a.m. in the Funeral Center followed by Funeral Mass at 10:00 a.m. at the St. Joseph Catholic Church, Amherst. Burial will be in Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman, Ohio.
