Robert L. Bumgardner's Obituary
Robert L. Bumgardner, age 88, of Lorain, passed away on Monday, November, 16, 2020 at Mercy New Life Hospice Center, Lorain.
He was born on April 25, 1932 in Sissonville, W. VA. After proudly serving his country for 4 years in the United States Navy and being honorably discharged, he moved to Lorain. He then went to work for General Motors as a machine specialist, retiring from there after 32 years. Robert enjoyed walking and hiking in the park, especially with the kids. And once the kids all grew up, he liked going with his dog. He also enjoyed going fishing, but above all, he treasured his time spent with his family, especially the grandkids.
Robert is survived by his wife of 64 years, Elizabeth (nee Justice), his children; Diane (Wayne) Wright, of Oberlin, Sherry (Bill) Parker, of Lorain, and Robert (Brenda) Bumgardner, of Oberlin, his 5 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, and his brother, Jim (Effie) Sisson, of Sissonville, W. VA.
He was preceded in death by his parents; John and Audrey Bumgardner, his adoptive parents; Henry and Rini Sisson, and a brother, Bob (Pat) Sisson.
The family will receive friends on Friday, November 20, 2020 from 10:00 am until the time of his funeral service at 11:00 am, in the Dovin and Reber Jones Funeral & Cremation Center, 1110 Cooper Foster Park Road, Amherst. We ask that you enter through our main entrance of the funeral center, please pay your respects to the family, and exit through our gathering center door. Face coverings are required, limited seating will be provided for the service to ensure that a six feet separation is maintained.
