Robert "Bob" Hajski's Obituary
Robert “Bob” Hajski, age 82, of Lorain, passed away after a brief illness, at his home and surrounded by his loving family, on Friday, November 18, 2022. He was under the care of New Life Hospice Center of St. Joseph, Lorain.
Bob was born on June 26, 1940 in Niagara Falls, NY. After graduating high school, he enlisted in the United States Navy, proudly serving from 1959 until being honorably discharged in 1963. During the Cuban Missile Crisis, he was stationed near Cuba on the USS Boxer as a Helmsman. Most of Bob’s career life was dedicated to working at Bob Gillingham Ford as financial manager for many years until he finally retired in 2004.
Bob was a member of the Amherst VFW Post #1662, where he was a Quartermaster for a couple of years. He loved traveling, especially with his beloved wife. They were very fortunate to visit many states and countries, with some of the most memorable being Alaska, Hawaii, and Tahiti. He also enjoyed golfing and fishing.
He is survived by his wife, Francine (nee Matus) Hajski; children, Shari (Craig) Bender, Rob Hajski, Amanda (Zach) Brezinski, Sarah (Kevin Liszak) Gerber, and Edward Gerber, Jr.; his grandchildren; great grandchildren; and siblings, Suzanne (nee Hajski) Starcher and Thomas Hajski.
He was preceded in death by a son, Greg Hajski; grandson, Jared Akin; and his parents, Felix & Sophie (nee Kolano) Hajski.
