Robert A. Keiser's Obituary
Robert A. Keiser, a devoted husband, father and grandfather passed away on Tuesday, March 19, 2024, at the Cleveland Clinic. Surrounded by his loved ones.
Born on February 3, 1946, in Waynesville, Missouri, Robert was the cherished son of Dr. Howard A. and Pearl Keiser (nee Warren). He spent his formative years in Lorain, Ohio developing a strong sense of compassion and commitment to helping others. Robert's education began in the Lorain City Schools, and he then attended and graduated from Howe Military School in Howe, Indiana, in 1964 where he laid the foundation for a life dedicated to service. His thirst for knowledge led him to Ohio Northern University, where he earned his degree in Psychology and Sociology in 1968. He also met the love of his life, his wife Nancy, while they were both attending the University.
Robert embarked on a fulfilling career spanning over three decades with the Vocational Rehabilitation Bureau, where he served as a counselor and supervisor. His dedication to assisting others in finding their path to success left a lasting impact on countless lives. Robert retired in 1998, leaving behind a legacy of compassion and professionalism.
Outside of his professional endeavors, Robert was an active member of his community. He held memberships with organizations such as the Elks and Silver Wheels, where he found camaraderie and shared interests with fellow members. Robert had a zest for life and enjoyed a variety of hobbies, including bowling, tennis, golf, kayaking, scuba diving, and biking.
Robert's greatest joy in life was his family. He shared 54 beautiful years of marriage with his beloved wife, Nancy (nee Geiger) Keiser. Together, they raised three loving children: Jason Keiser, Andrea (Jacinto) Vazquez, and Jennifer (Michael) Bailey. Robert was a devoted grandfather to Haley (Guillermo) Alicea, Sydney Vazquez, Mattie Vazquez, and Allison Bailey. His love and guidance will continue to inspire his family for generations to come.
In addition to his immediate family, Robert is survived by his siblings, Marilyn (John Bachman) Keiser, James (Lucinda) Keiser, and Dr. Paul (Debra) Keiser. He was preceded in death by his parents, Dr. Howard and Pearl Keiser, his brother Brian Keiser, and his uncle Alfred “Bud” Warren.
Friends and family are invited to pay their respects and celebrate Robert's life on Wednesday, March 27, 2024, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Dovin and Reber Jones Funeral & Cremation Center, located at 1110 Cooper Foster Park Road, Amherst. A funeral service will immediately follow the visitation at 7:00 p.m. in the funeral center. Inurnment will take place at a later date at Ridge Hill Memorial Park.
