Robert L. Kufel's Obituary
Robert “Bobby” Kufel, age 83, passed away unexpectedly on September 10, 2025. He was born on June 14, 1942, in Lorain, Ohio, to the late Stanley and Helen (née Chopchinski) Kufel and remained a lifelong resident of Lorain.
A proud graduate of The Ohio State University, Bobby was an active member of Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church in Lorain. He was an avid cyclist who especially loved riding through the Cleveland Metroparks and his weekly Thursday hangouts with friends at Bascule Brewery where he was affectionately known as “Bascule Bob.” His soundtrack to life was pure rock ‘n’ roll, from blasting Pink Floyd and jamming to Sammy Hagar to dancing along with The Rolling Stones; he enjoyed attending concerts and live music events.
He was the loving father of Eric Kufel (Terri) and Todd Kufel (Berly Estrada Kufel); devoted grandfather of Parker Kufel; dear brother of Randall Kufel; and a friend to many. He will be missed.
A memorial visitation will be held on Friday, November 14th from 12-1 PM with a Mass of Christian Burial at 1 PM at Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church, 418 W. 15th St., Lorain, OH 44052. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Lorain, Ohio.
