Robert A. Kurant's Obituary
Robert A. Kurant of Amherst, passed away on Wednesday, December 21, 2022, at The Cleveland Clinic of a Brain Aneurysm. Robert was surrounded by friends and family, he was 54.
Robert was born on September 18, 1968, on the United States Naval Base in Ceiba, Puerto Rico where his father served in the United States Navy. He lived most of his life in Lorain and worked as a Master Carpenter building hundreds of homes throughout his career in and around the Cleveland/Akron area. Robert was mentored by his Stepfather, Ronald Konowal to build beautifully crafted, well-built homes. Robert was always ready to lend his skill and knowledge to aid the next generation builder and he was immensely proud of the work he accomplished.
Bobby, as he was affectionately known, loved his Harley Davidson motorcycles, and his beloved dog Mazzy Mae. He was a devoted son, brother, uncle, and friend. He was a beautiful soul, with a sensitive heart and he will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved him.
Robert was preceded in death by his Grandparents, Nicholas and Theresa Urban, Aimee and Chester Kurant, Stepfather Ronald Konowal. He is survived by his Mother Antoinette Konowal; Father, Robert (Terry) Kurant; longtime companion, Laura Criss; sister, Lynette (Jeffrey) Stein; niece, Christina (Joseph)Stein Imberlina; and nephew Zachary (Grace)Stein. Aunts, Uncles, and cousins.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, December 29th, from 3 - 7 pm in the Dovin and Reber Jones Funeral & Cremation Center, 1110 Cooper Foster Park Road, Amherst. His funeral service will be on Friday, at 10:00 am, also in the funeral center. Rev. Fr. John Retar will officiate. Burial will then follow at Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.
