It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Robert C. Lenz, who left this world on September 4, 2023, at the age of 64. Robert was a remarkable individual who defied the odds and inspired all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Born on June 12, 1959, in New York to proud parents Robert and Joan Lenz (nee Reddy), Robert's life was a testament to perseverance, determination, and unwavering dedication. He faced the challenge of visual impairment with unwavering courage, proving that even in the face of adversity, one can achieve greatness.
Robert's educational journey led him to graduate from Sayville High School in 1978, where he showcased his early commitment to excellence. He continued his pursuit of knowledge, earning a bachelor's degree in Architectural Design from Farmingdale New York Tech in 1984. This marked the beginning of a lifelong passion for architectural design that would span over three decades.
Remarkably, Robert's legal blindness did not deter him from pursuing his dreams. Against all odds, he became an accomplished architect, designing spaces that brought joy and inspiration to countless individuals. His vision extended beyond the limits of his own sight, and his creations were a testament to his remarkable talent and spirit.
Robert's career in architectural design spanned 35 years, during which he made significant contributions to the field. He dedicated 16 years to Arkinetics from 1999 to 2015 and continued to shine at Fischer and Associates from 2015 until 2023. His work left an indelible mark on the world, as he had a unique gift for making people happy and turning their dreams into tangible reality.
Outside of his professional pursuits, Robert was a member of the First Baptist Church of Elyria.
Robert is survived by his loving wife of 23 years, Patricia (nee Price) Lenz, who stood by his side through thick and thin. He is also survived by his cherished daughters, Crystal (David) Harris and Amy Cornils, as well as his adored grandchildren, Lily and Aiden Alheit. Additionally, he leaves behind several siblings, who were a constant source of support and love throughout his life.
Robert C. Lenz's journey reminds us all that the human spirit is boundless, capable of overcoming any obstacle with determination and grace. His legacy will live on in the hearts and memories of those he touched, and his remarkable achievements will continue to inspire generations to come.
