Robert Novak's Obituary
Robert J. Novak, age 80, passed away on Sunday, January 1, 2017.
He was born on August 8, 1936 and grew up in Lorain. He attended Ss. Cyril and Methodius for grade school and then later graduated from Lorain High. Robert was employed for over 45 years at Nelson Stud Welding, where he worked in the assembly and welding department. Years ago, he also worked at A&P on Broadway Avenue.
He was a member of St. John United Church of Christ and also belonged to the Slovak Club. Robert will always be remembered for his love of boating, fishing, and hunting.
He will be dearly missed by his children; Robert, Jr. (Jennifer) Novak, Kimberlie A. (Robert) McIntyre, and Cindy Keathley, his 8 grandchildren; Darcie and Kaitlyn McIntyre, Nicholas and Anthony Keathley, and Natalie, Morgan, Kendall, and Tessa Novak. He is also survived by his brother, Edward A., and a sister, Dorothy Sas.
Robert was preceded in death by his loving wife of over 40 years, Marlene (nee Mackert), parents; John J., Sr. and Frances (nee Zore) Novak, brothers; John R. and Joseph, and a sister, Florence.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, January 5, from 3 – 7pm, in the Dovin and Reber Jones Funeral & Cremation Center, 1110 Cooper Foster Park Road, Amherst. Funeral services will be held on Friday, also in the funeral home, at 11:00 am. The Rev. David Rogers will officiate. Burial will follow in Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst.
