I wish everyone could have an Uncle Bob, and Aunt Janet. I’m sure happy I did. He was the funniest person in the room, and he always had a smile on his face. He gave me a Mexican throw blanket when I was about 7 years old. He told me he bought it in the desert, and had to fight bandits to get it back to me. I believed that story for years, and I think of him whenever I look at that blanket. He told great stories. He was a great man.
Jamie and Powell family, how sad we are to hear that you have lost your loved one. The Bible calls death an enemy and we truly feel that, when we lose someone so close. But how thankful we are to Jehovah for helping us to see that death was not His original purpose but rather part of the “works of the Devil” and soon our King Jesus will “break up the works of the Devil” and then the enemy death will be gone forever. (1John 3:8) At that time we can be set free from the pain that comes with loss and the fear we may have for ourselves. (Hebrews 2:14,15) May you all find comfort together while sharing the memories of such a beloved, generous and patient man. We look forward to seeing him soon, pickin’ and grinnin’ again. It is a difficult and sad time when someone we love dies. We know that Jamie and his family loved "Grampa Bob" very much as did all of you. We send our love and sympathy to all of you. Our prayers are for you that "the God of all comfort" may indeed comfort all of you with the promise that soon He will "wipe out every tear from your eyes" (Rev. 21:3,4). We look forward to seeing Bob and Janet soon, in full health, and in the Paradise!

Dad was easy to love and loved easily. When I married his son, Jamie, almost 30 years ago, I instantly felt like his daughter. I loved his quick laugh and side glance smile. I loved that he loved his family and worked hard to provide for them. He was generous and genuine. I admired his loving care of Mom during her illness; he would greet her in the morning with a smile, a peck on the cheek, a cup of coffee (she loved her coffee!) and a song. He helped her raise the man I am honored to spend my life with, a man much like his Dad. There was no prouder day than to watch Dad symbolize his dedication to serve his God, Jehovah, by water baptism at age 77. So we will see you soon, Dad, with you and Mom in perfect health on a paradise earth that you both sincerely believed and looked forward to being a part of soon. We will continue working hard to share with others the good news of life without pain, tears or death. Revelation 21:3, 4.
