Robert E. Smith's Obituary
Robert E. Smith, age 84, a resident of Zephyrhills, Florida for the past 25 years and formerly of Wakeman passed away Wednesday, July 1, 2015 after a lengthy illness.
He was born on July 6, 1930 in Cleveland, Ohio to Harry and Elsie (nee Beech) Smith.
Robert served with the United States Navy for 3 years. He retired from Ford Motor Company, Brook Park in 1985 after 33 years of service.
He enjoyed going to Flea Markets, motorcycles and painting.
Robert is survived by his wife of 42 years, Carol (nee Wooley); sons, Robert J. (Rita) Smith, Charles (Melody) Smith, Harry (Joan) Smith, Dale (Melissa) Smith, Richard (Fran) Gilles and Thomas (Kim) Gilles; daughters, Georgie Smith and Diana Cillo; 13 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and 1 great great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Elsie Smith; step-son, Jackie Gilles; and his brother, Harry Smith Jr.
The Smith family will receive friends on Sunday, July 5, 2015 from 1:00 – 4:00 p.m. in the Dovin and Reber Jones Funeral & Cremation Center, 1110 Cooper Foster Park Road, Amherst where services will be held on Monday, July 6th. at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst Twp.
