Robin J. Hunker's Obituary
Robin J. Hunker, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and friend, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, March 25, 2024, at Mercy Regional Medical Center at the age of 68. Robin was born on October 28, 1955, in Dearborn, Michigan, to Gerald and Betty Snyder.
A graduate of Vermilion High School, Robin's professional journey was marked by dedication and passion. For 26 years, she was an integral part of the St. Joseph School community in Amherst. Beginning as an Aide in the Pre-School Classroom and teaching religion, she eventually transitioned to the role of school secretary. Robin cherished her work, forming strong bonds with teachers and students alike.
Beyond her professional life, Robin was a woman of diverse interests and talents. She found joy in reading, traveling, snow skiing, and the occasional trip to the casino with her beloved husband, Dean. Robin's culinary skills were legendary among family and friends, as she delighted in hosting and feeding those she loved. Her creative spirit shone brightly in her crafting endeavors and holiday decorations.
Above all, Robin's heart belonged to her family. She adored spending time with her husband of 49 years, Dean, and their sons Brian (Karen), Eric (Amber), and Justin (Ellen). Her grandchildren, Brendan, Austin, Braden, Ainsley, Jude, Elijah, Jonah, and Ezra, brought her immeasurable joy. Robin is also survived by her parents, Gerald and Betty Snyder, her sister Anna (Bryan) Williams, and her brothers Jerry (Debbie) Snyder and Mark (Linda) Snyder.
Robin was preceded in death by her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Marvin and Louise Hunker, and her grandparents, Dudley and Mildred Brown, and Oscar and Lucy Snyder.
Friends and family are invited to pay their respects on Tuesday, April 2, 2024, from 3:00 - 7:00 p.m. at the Dovin and Reber Jones Funeral & Cremation Center, 1110 Cooper Foster Park Road, Amherst. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, April 3, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 200 St. Joseph Drive, Amherst, officiated by Rev. Father Timothy O'Connor, Pastor. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.
