Ronald John Staveskie's Obituary
Ronald John Staveskie, 71, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 30, 2026, under the compassionate care of Ames Family Hospice.
Born on December 23, 1954, Ronald lived a life defined by hard work, curiosity, and a deep appreciation for nature. A 1973 graduate of Admiral King High School, he continued his education at Lorain County Community College, earning his Associate's Degree. He dedicated an impressive 44 years of service to U.S. Steel, where he was known for his strong work ethic and commitment.
Ronald was truly a man of many talents and interests. He was a beekeeper, a tree farmer and a lifelong member of the Brownhelm Historical Association, where he proudly supported the preservation of the community he cherished. He loved the outdoors and nature, you would often find him working on the yard, gardening or doing projects in the woods across the street. Ronald enjoyed traveling to Ohio Wesleyan University to watch his son Matthew play football. He would also travel to The University of Toledo to visit his son Michael. Ronald loved the Cleveland Indians and the Cleveland Browns unconditionally through the ups and downs of many seasons.
Ronald embraced life with a sense of humor and an outgoing personality that brought smiles to those around him. His greatest joy was his beloved wife, his sons, and his grandchildren, who were the center of his world. He was immensely proud of his twin sons and cherished every moment spent with his grandchildren. He also enjoyed the companionship of his cats and appreciated life's simple pleasures.
He will be deeply missed by his loving wife of 39 years, Susan (nee McGinty); his twin sons, Matthew (Erin) Staveskie of Lebanon, Ohio, and Michael (Angela) Staveskie of Chicago, Illinois; his cherished grandchildren, Rocco, Victor, Bria, Palmer, and Cruz; his brother, Richard (Dorothy) Staveskie; his sister-in-law, Charlotte "Cookie" Staveskie; and many loving nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Caroline Kure; his brothers, James Staveskie and Bob Reynolds; and his sister-in-law, Charlotte Reynolds.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, July 11, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at the Dovin and Reber Jones Funeral & Cremation Center, 1110 Cooper Foster Park Road, Amherst. Funeral services will follow the visitation at 1:00 p.m. in the funeral center. Private inurnment will take place at a later date at Brownhelm Cemetery
