Rondel B. Grogg's Obituary
Rondel B. Grogg, age 84, of Oberlin passed away Saturday, May 16, 2015 at Mercy Allen Hospital in Oberlin.
He was born on September 11, 1930 in Eva, West Virginia to Leamon and Amy Grogg. On March 18, 1952 he enlisted with the United States Marie Corps and was honorably discharged on March 17, 1954.
Rondel was employed by U.S. Steel as a millwright retiring in 1989 after 34 years of service. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and his dogs.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Annetta “Jane” (nee Boyce) Grogg; children, Richard, Deborah, Sharon, Wilda and Dennis; grandchildren, Christopher, Julia, Greg, Lexie, Bryan, Buddy and Tony; great-grandchildren, Lucas, Caleb and Austin; siblings, Dotty, Bill, Cookie, Delores, Kenny, Connie, Peggy, Anthony and Danny.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Leamon and Amy Grogg; 2 sisters; and 7 brothers.
The Grogg family will receive friends on Tuesday, May 19, 2015 from 10:00 – 12:00 noon at the Dovin and Reber Jones Funeral & Cremation Center, 1110 Cooper Foster Park Road, Amherst where services will be held at 12:00 noon. Pastor Dan Samms of Restoration Church will officiate. Interment will follow at New Russsia Twp. Cemetery, Oberlin. Military Honors will be conducted by the Amherst Veterans Honor Guard.
