Rose Fazekas' Obituary
Rose Fazekas, 96, of Lorain, passed away peacefully on February 5, 2026, at Lorain Estates.
She was born on May 6, 1929, in Lorain, Ohio, to John and Mary (née Shavern) Drovedelich. Rose spent her life devoted to her family, her work, and the simple joys that brought her pride and happiness.
In the early 1970s, Rose began her career with the Lorain City Schools, first at Southview High School and later at Whittier Junior High School, where she served as cafeteria manager. She took great pride in her work and was known for her dedication, organization, and care for others.
Rose had a deep love for gardening and spent countless hours planting flowers and tending to her yard, which she kept immaculate. Her home reflected that same attention to detail—always pristine, welcoming, and perfectly kept. In her quieter moments, she enjoyed crocheting afghans and doilies, playing cards, and sharing time with family and friends.
She is survived by her son, William (Molly) Fazekas Jr.; daughters, Janet (David) Jones and Sharee (John) Dorsey; grandchildren, Joelelle Fazekas, Kelly Polander, Jason Gwynn, Joseph Gwynn, John Dorsey, and Jennifer Branham; and many cherished great-grandchildren.
Rose was preceded in death by her beloved husband, William Fazekas Sr., in 2014; her parents, John and Mary Drovedlich; and her siblings.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, February 11, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at the Dovin and Reber Jones Funeral & Cremation Center, 1110 Cooper Foster Park Road, Amherst. Funeral services will immediately follow the visitation at 6:30 p.m. at the funeral center. Private family interment will take place on Thursday, February 12, 2026, at Resthaven Memory Gardens.
