Roseann Hitlan's Obituary
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Roseann Hitlan, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. Roseann passed away on Saturday, August 5, 2023, at the age of 77, surrounded by her family. Her departure leaves a void that will be deeply felt by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Born on February 23, 1946, in Salt Lake Township, Pennsylvania to Robert and Annamae (nee Schrug) Peck, Roseann's journey through life was marked by kindness, dedication, and a genuine love for others. She embarked on a path of service early in life, graduating from MB Johnson School of Nursing as a registered nurse. For over 30 years, she dedicated her time and expertise to her nursing profession, leaving a lasting impact on the lives she touched through her compassionate care. In 2002, Roseann retired from her nursing career, but her legacy continued to shine brightly.
In addition to her professional accomplishments, Roseann was an active member of the Moose Lodge Ladies Auxiliary. Her spiritual devotion led her to be a member of St. Mary's Church in Vermilion, where her faith provided solace and strength.
Roseann had a zest for life that extended beyond her professional and community commitments. She found joy in various hobbies, including bowling, antiquing, and crocheting. These interests allowed her to express her creativity and connect with others who shared her passions. Her enthusiasm was infectious, and she had a way of making even the simplest moments memorable.
At the center of her world was her family, who meant everything to her. Roseann is survived by her loving husband , Robert, who she shared 61 beautiful years of marriage with; children, Jeff Hitlan, Rob Hitlan, Scott Hitlan, and Tracy Knight-Fluke, gradchildren, Summer (Richard) Barnett, Staci (Nick Rodak) Knight, Lindsey (Aaron Molnar) Hiltan, Jeff Hitlan Jr., Danny Hitlan, Jessica Patterson, Savanna Hitlan, Samantha Hitlan, Eliza Hitlan and Jory Wotherspoon; great-grandchildren, Amora Hitlan, Josslyn Barnett, Lila Molnar, Matthew Rodak, Haydin Gould, and Iann Gould; sister, Sandy (Don) Lunato.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Annamae Peck, and her brother, Bobby Peck. Contributions in her memory may be made to the Saint Francis Animal Sanctuary, at 12516 Cherry Road, Vermilion, Ohio 44089.
