Ruth Ann Ybarra's Obituary
Ruth Ann Ybarra, age 77, of Lorain, passed away on Friday, March 31, 2023, at Cleveland Metro Health Hospital. She was born on August 9, 1945, in Lorain, Ohio, to William and Elmina (nee Reising) Gildzen. Ruth graduated from Admiral King High School and worked in security at United Security Management for over 20 years. Ruth enjoyed watching old westerns, detective shows, and sitcoms, especially the Golden Girls. She also enjoyed doing word searches, cooking, and spending time with her sons and grandchildren. Ruth was a very faithful woman who prayed the rosary every day and read religious books. She enjoyed the small things in life and found joy in spending time with her loved ones.
Ruth Ann is survived by her sons, Rick, Ryan (Catherine), Ron, Randy, and Russell Ybarra; grandchildren, Michaela, Raegen, Veronica, Masen, Merika, Mazeray, Imogen, and Averie; and her sisters, Lois Gildzen and Natalie Robb.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Elmina Gildzen, and her grandson, Ryan Ybarra; and her brother-in-law, David Robb.
The family will receive friends on Monday, April 10, 2023, from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. in the Dovin and Reber Jones Funeral & Cremation Center, 1110 Cooper Foster Park Road, Amherst. Closing prayers will be said at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, April 11, 2023, in the funeral center, followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. at Nativity BVM Catholic Church, 418 W. 15th Street, Lorain, Ohio 44052. Rev. Father Craig Hovanec, Pastor, will officiate. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.
Ruth Ann will be deeply missed by her family and friends. She will always be remembered for her kind heart, her devotion to her faith, and her love for her family. May she rest in peace.
