Sandra L. Fide's Obituary
Sandra L. Fide, age 67, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 11, 2026, following a courageous three-year battle with cancer.
Sandra was born on September 6, 1958, in Oberlin, Ohio, to Charles “Chuck” and Barbara (née Wilgor) Jackson. She was a 1976 graduate of Wellington High School and continued her education, earning her Associate’s Degree in 1978.
Sandra dedicated many years of her professional life to caring for others. She began her career at Mercy Hospital and later worked for many years as a Surgery Scheduler at Kolczun and Kolczun Orthopedics, affiliated with The Cleveland Clinic Foundation. In addition, Sandra worked at Kohl’s in the Lorain store for 17 years, balancing both roles with remarkable dedication and work ethic.
Above all, Sandra cherished time spent with her family. She and her daughter shared a special love for collecting sea glass along Lakeview Beach and the beaches of Vermilion. She enjoyed traveling to Steamboat Springs, Colorado, where she loved not only skiing but also strolling through town and soaking in everything it had to offer. Sandra and her husband were devoted fans of the Mount Union Purple Raiders football team, holding season tickets and continuing to attend games long after their daughter graduated.
Sandra had a deep affection for her greyhound dogs, who brought her great joy and companionship. Her greatest happiness, however, came from babysitting her grandchildren and spending time with them—moments she treasured dearly.
Sandra is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 47 years, Jeffrey Fide; her son, Scott Fide; her daughter, Julia (Derek) Perkins; her beloved grandchildren, Nevi “Nugs,” Emmett, Vivian “Angry Bird” Perkins, Charley, Ben, and Lincoln; her father, Charles “Chuck” Jackson; and her sisters, Deborah Jackson and Nancy Pierce.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Barbara Jackson, and her sister, Laurie Dodig.
Family and friends will be received on Thursday, January 15, 2026, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Dovin and Reber Jones Funeral & Cremation Center, 1110 Cooper Foster Park Road, Amherst. In accordance with Sandra’s wishes, the family encourages all in attendance to dress casually.
