Sandra Lazar's Obituary
Sandra Jean Lazar, age 72, of Elyria, passed away peacefully at her home on Friday, April 8, 2011 following a sudden illness.
Born on February 14, 1939 in Lorain, she graduated from Lorain High School in 1956. She had attended Kent State University.
Sandra Jean had been employed at the former Sohio Building in Downtown Cleveland as a secretary. Following that, she worked as a Human Resource Manager at Xeres Corporation in Avon, from where she retired. She also served as a Notary Public for many years.
She was proudly featured as a “Who’s Who in America” in the 23rd edition in 1992-1993 of “Who’s Who in the Midwest”. Sandra Jean was a devoted member of the Order of the Eastern Star Day Chapter #479.
She enjoyed reading, singing and playing the organ and especially enjoyed staying in touch with family and friends. She was also proud that she could speak the Hungarian language fluently.
She was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Joseph and Mary (nee Papp) Lazar, of Lorain, her grandparents John and Susan Papp, of Lorain, and her cherished poodle, Babette.
She is survived by her cousins, Elmer and Marilyn Loczi, of Elyria, Daniel B. (Peggy) Loczi, Diane A. (Robert) Brandon, and Jennifer E. Loczi (James Heimann), and Eric Loczi and Meredith Loczi.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, April 12th from 1:00 p.m. until the time of funeral service at 1:30 p.m. in the Dovin and Reber Jones Funeral & Cremation Center, 1110 Cooper Foster Park Rd., Amherst. Pastor Bill Williams, Associate Pastor of Church of the Open Door, will officiate. Burial will follow in Ridge Hill Memorial Park.
