Sandra Lea Oberle's Obituary
Sandra Lea Oberle, beloved wife, mother, and friend, passed away on Sunday, February 16, 2025, at Mercy Allen Hospital in Oberlin, Ohio. She was born on August 30, 1961, in Lakewood, Ohio, to Norman and Janet (nee Faloon) Oberle.
A graduate of Keystone High School in 1979, Sandra pursued her passion for helping others by studying nurses training at Lorain County Community College. She was honored with an invitation to Clown College by the Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus, but she chose instead to embrace motherhood and family life, which remained her greatest priority and joy.
Sandra was a spirited entrepreneur, owning and operating Main St. Café in Berlin Heights for several years, as well as Lucky Touch Chimney Sweeps from 1980 to 2009. She also managed a small film production company, Open Door Productions, and worked in construction. Her adventurous spirit led her to serve as a first mate on a tour fishing boat in Vermilion and as a manager at Kalahari Resorts in Sandusky. In her early twenties, she brought joy to many as a professional clown for children's parties. Most recently, she found great fulfillment as the beach manager at Vermilion Lagoons, where she cherished serving the community and spending summers by the water.
A woman of deep spirituality, Sandra was dedicated to her faith, teaching spiritual development classes and workshops. She was a longtime member of Brownhelm Church in the 1980s and 1990s and held a profound personal relationship with her Creator. Though her faith was deeply rooted, she carried it with humility and grace.
Sandra was passionate about lifelong learning and embraced a wide range of interests, including drumming, harmonica, crafting, baking, cooking, sewing, photography, reading, astronomy, puzzles, and games. She was known for her kindness, always offering a helping hand to those in need, whether they were struggling with addiction, job loss, or personal hardships.
She is survived by her devoted husband, John, and her loving daughter, Samantha. She was preceded in death by her parents, Norman Oberle and Janet Fenwick, and her sister, Carol Hadley.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Sandra’s life on Tuesday, April 1, 2025, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Dovin and Reber Jones Funeral & Cremation Center, 1110 Cooper Foster Park Road, Amherst, Ohio. Online condolences may be shared with the family at www.dovinreberjones.com.
Sandra’s warmth, generosity, and adventurous spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
