Sandra L. Poman's Obituary
Sandra L. Poman (nee Hochevar), age 70, of Amherst, passed away on Monday, December 23, 2013 after a 6 year battle with dementia.
Born on February 18, 1943 in St. Michael, Pennsylvania, she came to Ohio as a teenager. She graduated from West Tech High School.
For years Sandra worked at JC Penney in Midway Mall in the drapery department.
Shea enjoyed traveling, camping and shopping.
She is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Stacy and Glenn Thome, of Amherst; her son, Michael, of Batesville, IN, and her son and daughter-in-law, Edward and Melissa, of Ladera Ranch, CA; 3 grandchildren, Emma, Brooke and Nicholas Poman; 3 step-grandchildren, Ashley, Amy and Ryan; her sister, Veronica Havrilla, of Cleveland; and 1 niece and 3 nephews.
Sandra was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer “Sonny”, in 2001; and her parents, Leo and Eleanor (nee Majewski) Hochevar.
A memorial service for family and friends will be held on January 12, 2014 at a time to be announced.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to Friendship Animal Protective League, 8303 Murray Ridge Road, Elyria, OH 44035.
