Saul Ramos' Obituary
Saul Ramos, age 43, of Lorain passed away suddenly on Friday, October 17, 2014 at Lakewood Hospital.
Saul was born on August 7, 1971 in Fajardo, Puerto Rico to Jose L. and Lydia (nee Rivera) Ramos and came to Lorain, Ohio at the age of 6. He was a 1990 graduate of Lorain High School and attended Lorain County Community College and Robert Morris College in Chicago where he majored in Business Management.
For the past 20 years, Saul has made his career in the banking industry serving in several capacities from consumer loan originating, bank manager and most recently in the position of Vice President , Community Consultant, Community Development Banking Department of PNC Bank, responsible for doing community outreach programs.
He was a very active member of the community as a member of Temple Emmanuel Assembly of God Church, as a Governance Board member for the Lorain County American Red Cross, and also served on the boards of Nueva Luz Urban Resource Network, Leadership Cleveland and the Cleveland Housing Network. He was a member of the Leadership Cleveland Class of 2015 and Leadership Lorain County 2012.
Saul was referred to by his family and friends as “Martha Stewart” for the talent he had with decorating and crafts. He enjoyed fishing and traveling. His family was first and foremost the most important part of his life.
He is survived by his wife of 19 years, Priscilla (nee Vera); son, Caleb Ramos; daughter, Vanessa Ramos; parents, Jose and Lydia (nee Rivera) Ramos; brothers, Jose (Reina) Ramos Jr., of Lorain and Daniel Ramos, of Lorain; sisters, Luz Ramos, of Lorain, Carmen (Edwin) Diaz, of Lorain and Yolanda (Isaias) Torres, of Lorain; and father and mother-in-law, Victor and Esther Vera, of Puerto Rico.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Daniel and Carmelina Ramos.
The Ramos family will receive friends on Wednesday, October 22, 2014 from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Temple Emmanuel Assembly of God Church, 4230 Clinton Ave., Lorain, OH 44055 where funeral services will be held on Thursday, October 23rd. at 11:00 a.m. Pastor Pedro Negron will officiate. Interment will follow in Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst Twp.
