Scott S. Towner's Obituary
Scott S. Towner, age 61, of Avon Lake passed away Wednesday, January 20, 2016.
He was born on December 29, 1954 in Amherst, Ohio to David and Doris Vance Towner and graduated from Admiral King High School in 1973.
Scott was an entrepreneur who established many businesses. He was a fourth generation builder, worked in the oil and gas industry while living in Arkansas and most recently was employed as a logistics broker with his company, Federal Logistics Inc.
He was a true craftsman, loved playing golf, boxing, competing in triathlons, dining out and traveling to Las Vegas. His most cherished time was the time he spent with his family. His family was his life.
Scott is survived by his wife of 34 years, Karen (nee Hilenski); daughters, Brooke, Allie and Brittney; his father, David (Joyce) Towner; mother, Doris Vance Towner; brothers, Michael (Richard Smith) Towner and Paul Towner.
The Towner family will receive friends on Wednesday, January 27, 2016 from 4:00 – 7:30 p.m. in the Dovin and Reber Jones Funeral & Cremation Center, 1110 Cooper Foster Park Road, Amherst. A memorial service will be held at 7:30 p.m. immediately following the visitation in the funeral center.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions be made in memory of Scott to the Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758517, Topeka, Kansas 66675.
