Born in Lorain, Ohio, Sherrill was the cherished daughter of George and Shirley Zolnai (nee Smith). She graduated from Lorain Admiral King High School in 1982, beginning a journey marked by warmth, dedication, and culinary artistry.
For many years, Sherrill served as the Assistant Head Chef at Marion L. Steel High School, where her passion for cooking and nurturing others blossomed. Alongside her daughter, Courtney, they had a small bakery called, “ The Sweet Teach," that they ran out of their homes as a hobby a way to spend time together and were able to share their delicious creations with others.

Among her passions, baking held a special place in Sherrill's heart. Her nut torte cake, cupcakes, and kiffles were legendary among those fortunate enough to taste them. She found joy in travel, with Walt Disney World holding a particularly cherished spot in her heart. A music enthusiast, she found solace and joy in the tunes of Jimmy Buffett and Bruno Mars.
Sherrill's love extended to her feline companions, and her home was always filled with their warmth and affection. However, her greatest love was reserved for her family, whom she treasured above all else.
